METAL POLISHING

"Our professional service goes through all the stages of polishing which are usually known as mirror show or sizzle polishing"
All work is carried out on 5hp 3 phase canning machine

Mirror finish used by show custom builders, hobbyist and sizzle usually for vintage restoration. Sateen finish gives the appearance of brushed aluminium.
Prior to any work commencing we thoroughly inspect the component, should this require lacquer or paint removal we can accommodate at a small costing in our de strip tanks. All parts are automatically de-greased removing old contaminants and may even be put through our vapour blasting process to enhance an even finish to the sub straight ready for polishing.
All sub straight metals are taken down to 320 prior to a three or four stage preparation depending on the material and the final finish that the customer requires. We also have Flexi belt sanders for fork legs, preparing for polishing or satin finish for laquering. Fork stantons can be left in place as we have stanton protectors.

Problems with polishing "Don't worry you are not on your own, you may have had a half decent finish on domestic amateur polishing wheels or just decided its like too much hard work or require show time finishes. Small polisher kits tend to run hotter, causing soap to melt quicker leaving a residue on aluminium and metal. Aluminium scorches easy and will not cover up when burnt, industrial machines have a higher tork rate and a high peripheral speed allowing finishing soaps to run at a cooler temperature. Fork legs,  consider a belt linish, satin final finish commencing with clear coat lacquer if required by ourselves. Also if you have the original cured, painted factory forks we can remove this either for repainting or polishing.

Exhausts, down pipes fork legs we tend to use flexi belt sanders and work pipe steel.
